I usually wake up about the same time every morning. Between 5:30 and 6:00, but after pushing snooze a couple times it is mostly closer to 6:00.
The night time is a little less rigid with scheduling but I have fallen into a pattern of going to bed around 10:00
So, my sleeping pattern has organically developed into 10-6. A nice solid 8 hours…although solid is misleading. I do wake up a few times during the night, but that is neither here nor there.
The other night I stayed up to watch the latest episode of American Horror Story. It starts at 10 and that means I am up for an extra hour.
Not bad, right? Just an extra hour. Surely I can do with one hour less of sleep.
Well, apparently, one hour makes a huge difference. When my alarm went off in the morning I pushed snooze a few extra times and when I finally got up I couldn’t even keep my eyes open. I had to sit on the edge of the couch and concentrate on not falling asleep.
Can a single hour really effect my sleep like that? Or perhaps it is because I have developed a schedule and sleep pattern and the simple fact that the pattern was disturbed messed me up.
Either way…one hour made a huge difference.
