I will be the first to admit that I love social media.

I like sharing things that interest me and discovering things that interest other people. I have fallen into the trap of sharing things that are only interesting to me and have tried to cut back on the food pictures and the workout updates.

Lately as I have scrolled through my Facebook feed there is nothing but boring crap.

Don’t get me wrong. A lot of my friends share stuff that I like to see. I like to see what they are doing or what they are up to. But like I said, there seems to be a lot of pictures of food, and workout updates, and pictures of every little detail of our lives.

Every. Little. Detail.

We don’t need to see every detail and we don’t need to share every detail.

We don’t need to know when the guy at Dunkin Donuts messes up your coffee. You don’t need to show us the coffee that was messed up. And we don’t need to see the little red spot on your finger where some of the coffee splashed you.

Remember when we went to the supermarket and didn’t lay out our order on the counter to take a picture and show everyone we just went to the supermarket?

I never really shared every detail of life online, but I have shared too much in the past.

And I think it would do all of life good if we all shared a little less.
