I live in Pennsylvania and work in New Jersey.
It is not as bad as it sounds. The drive is only about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic and that gives me plenty of time to listen to podcasts.
But what does suck is New Jersey’s gas tax hike.
Gas in PA is around 2.25 per gallon. Up until a few days ago gas in NJ was around 1.97 per gallon.
The New Jersey government decided it was a good idea to jack up the gas tax by something like 23 cents. That means those stations selling gas for 1.97 now have gas for 2.23 or more.
So when driving back and forth to work I would always get gas in NJ because it was so much cheaper.
Now it doesn’t matter.
In fact…now I will be getting gas in PA since I can pump my own and I don’t have to wait for the slow poke attendant in Jersey to stroll over to my car whenever he feels like it to pump my gas.
So all the PA drivers that spend time in NJ, the gas tax hike sucks.
It sucks for NJ drivers too, but now i can no longer get one over on the PA gas tax.
